March 11, 2024 · Connection To Spirit

The chakra system is a system of seven energy centers that exist throughout the human body. These energy points, which run up and down the spine, have specific chakra colors and stones that go along with each one. Each individual chakra generally has a color associated with it. There are also certain crystals that are known to resonate with each specific chakra. These crystals have the ability to assist in the healing and increased energy flow of each one. A healthy, unblocked, chakra system has amazing potential within an aligned human being. When you are in the flow, without stagnant energy holding you back, anything is possible! Read on to explore the seven chakras and learn more about the colors and stones associated with them.

Understanding the seven chakras and their importance.

What exactly are the seven chakras and what is the importance of them? What energy do they hold? Once you learn these things and gain a healthy understanding of the chakra system, chakra colors and stones, I encourage you to ask yourself: “How can I harness the knowledge of the existence of these energy centers in order to break out of old, stuck patterns and step into a higher, more authentic version of myself?” Feel this fluid energy run up and down your spine and use it to soar down the path that is meant for you!

The seven chakras are vital energy points within the human body! They relate to and express different aspects of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being within. Here is an overview of each chakra, along with their Sanskrit word, and a piece of spiritual knowledge associated with each one:

Root Chakra (Muladhara)

  • Located at the base of the spine.
  • Represented by the color red.
  • The root chakra is considered to be the first chakra. It is associated with survival instincts, stability, and a sense of security. Tapping into the energy held by the root chakra teaches us the importance of grounding ourselves, feeling secure in our physical bodies, and connecting with the earth’s energy to establish a solid foundation for growth.

Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana)

  • Located within the lower abdomen, below the navel.
  • Represented by the color orange.
  • The sacral chakra, the second chakra, is a space which holds creativity, emotions, and sensuality. Harnessing the power of the sacral chakra teaches us to embrace our creative power. It shows us how to honor our emotions and cultivate healthy relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

  • Located within the upper abdomen, around the belly button.
  • Represented by the color yellow.
  • The solar plexus, the third chakra, is associated with personal power, self-confidence, and willpower. Recognizing its existence teaches us to assert ourselves, set boundaries, and pursue our goals with courage and determination.

Heart Chakra (Anahata)

  • Located in the center of the chest, near the heart.
  • Represented by the color green.
  • The heart chakra, the fourth chakra, governs love, compassion, and forgiveness. This crucial chakra teaches us to open our hearts, cultivate love and empathy for ourselves and others, and let go of past hurts to experience true healing and connection.

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

  • Located within the throat area.
  • Represented by the color blue.
  • The throat chakra, the fifth chakra, is associated with communication, self-expression, and authenticity. A healthy throat chakra teaches us to speak our truth, express ourselves clearly and honestly, and listen to the wisdom of our inner voice.

Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)

  • Located at the forehead, between the eyebrows.
  • Represented by the color indigo.
  • The third eye chakra, the sixth chakra, governs intuition, insight, and spiritual awareness. The third eye teaches us to trust our intuition, tap into our inner wisdom, and perceive the interconnectedness of all things beyond the limitations of the physical world.

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

  • Located at the top of the head.
  • Represented by the color violet.
  • The crown chakra, the seventh chakra, is associated with divine connection, spiritual enlightenment, and universal consciousness. The crown teaches us to transcend the ego, experience unity with the universe, and realize our interconnectedness with all of creation.

By recognizing the existence of the seven chakra energy centers and understanding their significance, we can embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and spiritual evolution. This awareness allows us to align our energy, balance our emotions, and cultivate a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.
